What a Summer!

We had a great time at the Smokin’ Blues Festival, the weather cooperated just nicely, the people we met were friendly, was perfect and the music was fantastic. We were very impressed with how well organized it was, and we even asked the organizer if we could book for next year right away! Big hits were Garlic Jelly, Blueberry Grand Marnier & Whisky Marmalade!

We had a lovely visit this week, from Margaret’s Mum and Dad, and we spent some quality time hulling some strawberries, picked fresh from the field the very same day! I don’t think anything compares to Nova Scotia Strawberries, makes the best jam! We have expanded our Strawberry line, we still have Strawberry Jam, Strawberry Rhubarb Jam, and we have added Strawberry Frangelico!

Now on to our next adventures, this weekend, Margaret will be at the Sheet Harbour Farmer’s Market on Saturday from 9:00 – 1:00 and Larry will be at the Alderney Landing Farmer’s Market from 8:00 – 1:00, then it’s off to Truro for the 6th Annual Washer Toss Tournament. The Washer Toss Fundraiser is to raise awareness for Neuroblastoma, a cancer affecting children, and we’re so happy to say our beautiful niece, Maura is a healthy survivor of this horrible cancer.

On Sunday, we’re going to be vendors at the Sunday Community Market in Hammonds Plains, this is a new venue for us, and so we’re pretty excited about meeting some new folk.

Next weekend, we’re heading to Lockeport, for the Harmony Bazaar of Women and Song, we will be vendors but we are also attending a special birthday party for Larry’s sister, Patsy, combined with a family reunion with some special highlights! Photos and details to follow next week!

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer, we’re having a blast, thank you to all of our customers for helping us “live the dream”.
